Kado Café

Café & retail hospitality interior

Overview

A calm, refined café designed as a memorable experience — contemporary organic minimalism in soft architectural curves, sculptural lighting and a warm neutral palette. Comfortable seating, a clear customer journey and elegant product displays share one plan, while subtle green accents tie the interior to the café’s natural, artisanal identity.

The Brief

Challenge, approach, outcome

01

The challenge

A café that also retails has two clocks running at once: the slow one, where a guest settles into a chair and stays, and the fast one, where a customer picks a box from the shelf and leaves. The plan had to serve by the cup and sell by the box in the same room — display density of a shop, dwell time of a café — without either half cheapening the other.

02

Our approach

The plan separates the two speeds and joins them with arches: a display side, where the backlit product wall and tasting table present the collection like exhibits, and a café side, where bouclé chairs and coffee slow the visit down. The brand was carved into the joinery itself — leaf perforations in the counter fronts, the kado mark backlit on textured plaster — and one sculptural ribbon of light ties the ceiling together so the room reads as a single gesture from the door.

03

The client’s goal

A café guests remember and return to — coffee served slowly, the collection tasted first and wrapped beautifully on the way out.
